An exceptional mid-19th century chest of drawers handcrafted in Damascus. Richly inlaid with natural white mother of pearl set into solid walnut wood, the surface features intricate floral motifs, with each shell fragment delicately wrapped in fine silver metallic wire. The chest offers one upper drawer and four lower drawers, topped with a natural marble surface. Mother-of-pearl–inlaid knobs and the warm walnut tones beautifully contrast the luminous shell, making this rare piece a true work of 19th-century Syrian craftsmanship.
