In this photograph, Doris Duke is seen selecting three exquisite mother-of-pearl inlaid commodes from a Syrian furniture dealer. Moments like this remind me how deeply Syrian craftsmanship has been admired and collected around the world.
I take great pride in knowing that Syrian furniture has long been celebrated for its exceptional quality, intricate artistry, and timeless beauty — treasured by distinguished collectors and renowned figures alike.
