Doris Duke is one of the biggest Islamic Art collector, Her mansion in Hawaii turned into museum showing exceptional collection of artifacts and Syrian furniture. She traveled the world collecting her collection and one of her stop was Damascus Syria in 1938 and picked several mother of pearl inlay furniture for her future residence in Hawaii.
